Media Food Bank

The Media Food Bank provides nutritional and household items to families of Media community who are in need, with the mission to help financially disadvantaged citizens living in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. This organization is a necessary part of life for well over one hundred people in the borough and surrounding areas; While being located at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Media, the Food Bank also serves the residents of Upper Providence, Nether Providence, Rose Valley, Middletown, Bethel, Aston, Thornbury, Chadds Ford, Chester Heights, Concord, Parkside, Brookhaven, Birmingham, and Swarthmore (west of Chester Rd). Each family who visits the pantry is provided with enough food for 3 meals per day for 5 days, for each family member, per month.

Serving the community for almost a quarter of a century, the Media Food Bank is funded by community generosity, and by federal and state governments through the Delco Interfaith Food Assistance Network (DIFAN). DIFAN is a network of food pantries which is coordinated by Family & Community Service of Delaware County. Even with this support, the Media Food Bank still relies significantly on contributions of food, money, and volunteers’ time. Upon visiting the Media Food Bank, which is open every Thursday evening from 7-8 PM as well as both the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 10-11 AM, you are likely to see volunteers bringing and organizing food and donations. Please consider stopping by to give or help; Anything offered for those less fortunate is greatly appreciated.
